Having
received one of Enterprising Women Magazine’s 2004
Enterprising Woman of the Year Awards, Ms. Leeanna Román
Fournier is a nationally recognized business and non-profit leader.
Just having turned 35 years old, this mother of three also owns
and operates Providence Pediatric Medical DayCare, Inc., a medical
day care program for medically fragile children.
Comfortable having lunch with President and Mrs. Bush as well as
serving as a panelist in an international summit on entrepreneurship
at Bloomberg Radio, Ms. Román Fournier is passionate about
serving medically at-risk children in urban and suburban centers. “I
believe every child deserves quality and affordable medical treatment,” she
said, and since 2000, her medical day care centers have served
children of all races and ethnicities. An advocate for diversity
in the workplace, Ms. Román Fournier practices what she
preaches because she has hired talented ethnically and racially
diverse employees. Her leadership is often recognized with important
business awards. At press time, she is a 2004 National
Finalist for Advanta Credit Card’s new Stevie Award in the Category
of Entrepreneur of the Year – Service Business, and a 2004
National Finalist for Hispanic Business Magazine’s Entrepreneur
of the Year Award in the Rising Star Category.
Whether introducing Vice President Dick Cheney or making an acceptance
award when she received the the prestigious 2003 “Artemis
Award” in the area of Entrepreneurial Leadership from the
Euro-American Women’s Council, Ms. Román Fournier
serves as a role model for women, Hispanics, minorities in America
and young entrepreneurs. “Unless we stand up for our beliefs,
we will be ignored,” she said. “Excellence is the
only standard acceptable to a business leader, and the children
I serve deserve only the best in services.”
